RELAYS, ELECTROMAGNETIC, GENERAL SPECIFICATION FOR

This specification is approved for use by all Departments and Agencies of the Department of Defense.

1.  SCOPE

1.1  Scope.  This specification covers the general performance requirements for electrical relays with contact ratings up to and including 10 amperes for use in electronic, communications, and other applications (see 6.1).

CAUTION:  The use of any coil voltage (or current) less than the rated coil voltage (or current) will compromise the operation of the relay.

CAUTION:  Pick-up, hold, and dropout voltages are for test purposes only and are not to be used as design criteria.

For additional application and caution information, see 6.1.

1.2  Part or Identifying Number (PIN). The PIN will consist of the letter "M", the specification sheet number, and an assigned dash number (see 3.1) as shown in the following example:
