MIL-PRF-11767G(AT)
NOTE: The oscillogram should include a time about 3D long with the pulse located
approximately in the center. The integration to determine velocity change should extend
from 0.4D before the pulse to 0.1D beyond the pulse. The acceleration amplitude of the
ideal half-sine pulse is A and its duration is D. Any measured acceleration pulse which
can be contained between the broken line boundaries is a nominal half-sine pulse of
nominal amplitude A and nominal duration D. The velocity-change associated with the
measured acceleration pulse is V.

4.8.3 Corrosion. To determine conformance to 3.4.3, the relay assembly shall evidence
no corrosion during or after 200 hours of exposure to a 5% saline solution sprayed in a finely
divided, wet dense fog. The test shall be conducted with a temperature in the exposure zone
maintained at 95 + 2, - 3°F.
4.8.4 Waterproofness. To determine conformance to 3.4.4, the relay assembly shall be
tested as follows:
a. A relay assembly, with its electrical connections, shall be submerged in a container
containing a saline solution consisting of 5% salt and 95% water and placed in a
vacuum chamber. The salt shall be sodium chloride containing on a dry basis not
more than 0.1% sodium iodine and not more than 0.2% total impurities. The
water shall be distilled water or other water containing not more than 200 parts per
million of total solids. The uppermost surface of the submerged relay assembly
shall be a minimum of 1 in. below the surface of the saline solution. The chamber
shall then be evacuated to a pressure of 6 lb below atmospheric so as to apply a
minimum of 6 pounds per square inch (psi) internal pressure to all voids within the
relay assembly. The relay assembly shall be operated for 30 minutes at full rated
current and voltage while submerged and pressurized. During the entire operation,
the relay assembly shall be observed for poor seals, as evidenced by bubbles
escaping from its interior. Leakage thus indicated shall be considered as
noncompliance with the waterproofness requirement and the relay assembly shall
be rejected. Bubbles which are the result of entrapped air on the exterior surfaces
of the relay assembly shall not be considered a leak.
b. The chamber shall then be pressurized to 6 lb above atmospheric and the relay
assembly again operated for 30 minutes. Test results obtained shall be compared
with the data from step a.
4.9 Support and ownership verification. Conformance to 3.5.1 through 3.5.2, 3.5.4, and
3.5.5 shall be determined using appropriate verification methods from 4.6 or 4.6.1.
