MIL-PRF-11767G(AT)
gun relay shall be subjected to a 20 A dc resistive load across the contacts and 28 Vdc on the coil.
The main gun relay shall be subjected to a 45 A dc resistive load across the contacts and 28 Vdc
on the coil. The voltage drop shall be measured within 0.05 seconds after contacts close.
4.10.8 Extreme temperature operation. To determine conformance to 3.6.8, the test
specified in 4.10.1 shall be repeated at temperatures of -65 + 5°F and +160 + 5°F. Prior to
testing at each temperature, the relay assemblies shall be subjected to that temperature for
24 hours.
5. PACKAGING
5.1 Packaging. For acquisition purposes, the packaging requirements shall be as specified
in the contract or order (see 6.2). When actual packaging of materiel is to be performed by DoD
personnel, these personnel need to contact the responsible packaging activity to ascertain requisite
packaging requirements. Packaging requirements are maintained by the Inventory Control Point's
packaging activity within the Military Department or Defense Agency, or within the Military
Department's System Command. Packaging data retrieval is available from the managing Military
Department's or Defense Agency's automated packaging files, CD-ROM products, or by
contacting the responsible packaging activity.
6. NOTES
(This section contains information of a general or explanatory nature which may be
helpful, but is not mandatory.)
6.1 Intended use. The gun firing relay assembly covered by this specification is intended
for the protection of the gun firing solenoid on military combat vehicles from burn-out, by
preventing the solenoid from remaining continuously energized.
6.2 Acquisition requirements. Acquisition documents must specify the following:
a.
Title, number, and date of this specification.
b.
When first article is required (see 3.1 and 6.3).
c.
Design, materials, and manufacturing processes, if other than specified (see 3.2).
d.
Part number (see 3.5.5).
e.
Maximum contact voltage drop, if other than specified (see 3.6.7).
f.
Inspection conditions, if other than specified (see 4.2).
g.
If first article test samples are other than specified (see 4.3).
h.
Conformance tests to be performed, number of samples, sequence of tests, and
frequency of sampling (see 4.4 and 6.4)
